I'm just trying to install munin on leopard. Based on the DarwinInstallation page on munin's Trac, I installed MacPorts and then moved on to the regular "make..." steps. I wonder if MacPorts was needed at all. The install didn't seem to use it.<BR/><BR/>Things worked until I tested the startup script I made. I get the error 'No such group "root" at line 409 in file /System/Library/Perl/Extras/5.8.8/Net/Server.pm' There is of course no root group, but I am confused as to why munin wants it. I reconfigured the groups expected in Makefile.config<BR/><BR/>I'll try your procedure, although hopefully I don't really need fink. MacPorts + Fink seems overkill for just one package.
